Thanksgiving traditions and Black Friday fights

On Thursday was Thanksgiving.

11/26/2011 - New York ( USA ) - I really like this holiday because it’s not about religion. Everybody in the USA celebrates this holiday.

In the morning you can either go to the yearly Thanksgiving parade or watch it on TV but I think it’s a must do on Thanksgiving to see the parade. Later that day we had a lot of family members here but also friends were welcome to come. Some family members came from Israel or another state in the US just to celebrate with us.

But the most interesting part for me was the food! We had a 21 pounds turkey, stuffed, sweet potatoes, baked macaroni and cheese, vegetables, cranberry mousse and more and for dessert we had 3 pies, cookies, ice crème, and of course coffee.

But Thanksgiving is not just about food and eating. I really enjoyed spending time with all this nice people. We played games, watched the Thanksgiving football games and helped together in the kitchen. They day was over so fast and everybody left to go back home.

Later this evening I left to get ready for Black Friday.

Black Friday is always after Thanksgiving and it is really in every store.

You get the best deals and the cheapest prices at this day. Normally Black Friday starts the day after Thanksgiving around 4 am and ends when the store is empty.

My first stop was Wal-Mart at 10 pm and it was still Thursday but we had to stay in a line to get in. After 20 minutes finally we were inside with about thousand other people. They all ran around to find the best deals and grabbed
as much as they can. I didn’t found anything there besides empty boxes and crowded walks so I drove to Best Buy to make me a picture about the line in front of the store. I was totally shocked when I arrived and saw the biggest, longest line I’ve ever seen at a store.

It was 10.30 pm and the store wouldn’t open until 12 so I was wondering how long the people would had wait here. I ask some guys at the beginning of the line and they said they waited since 11.30 pm yesterday! So they slept in front of the store at Thanksgiving! I didn’t go into the store there were way too many people.

But thank god, Monday is Cyber Monday and you can find the best deals online! I didn’t found anything there besides empty boxes and crowded walks so I drove to Best Buy to make me a picture about the line in front of the store.
